Arranging an assessment

Upper-face assessment takes place in the outpatient clinic of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center at Chongqing West District Hospital, 301 Huafu Avenue North Section, Jiulongpo District, Chongqing. Call the outpatient line, or use the channel described on the appointments page, and say that you are asking about the temple so that the right clinic time is booked.

What the consultation examines

The assessment looks at the upper face at rest and in movement, at where the hollow actually sits, at whether the brow tail is where it has always been, and at the thickness of the tissue over the temporal fossa. The vessels in front of the ear and near the outer orbital rim are felt for, and the way the brow lifts is recorded before anything is planned. Old photographs, if you have them, are more useful than you would expect, because they separate a temple that has flattened from a temple that is shadowed by descent. You should leave knowing which change is present, whether an injection reaches it, and what the alternatives are.

What to bring

Bring a list of your medication, including anything that affects clotting, and any record of previous injectable treatment. Tell the team about any history of migraine or frequent headache, any delayed reaction to an injected material, any bleeding disorder, and whether you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Mention any dental or sinus treatment planned in the coming weeks as well, because it affects the timing.

The review visit

A review at about four weeks is part of the plan rather than an extra appointment. It is when the contour is judged with the swelling gone, when the brow is checked again, when a small correction can be made, and when the interval to any further treatment is estimated from your own response. It is also the point at which a decision to stop can be taken honestly.

Questions without booking

Questions about the content of this site, including any correction you believe should be made to it, are welcome through the hospital administration line. Clinical questions about your own case are best answered at an assessment, and we will say so rather than guess.
